Ted Turner's cable channel Turner Classic Movies already has announced its spring programming slate of new shows, including a new pilot series tentatively called "Idols."

"Idols," which is described as "working title" for the new TCM series, showcases top stars interviewing the people they say influenced them. The pilot episode, already in production, will feature Alec Baldwin interviewing his idol, Gene Wilder. The series will be produced by Robert Trachtenberg.

"At TCM, we are about more than just showing movies Hollywood has made over the past century," said Tom Karsch, executive vice president and general manager for the network.

"This slate of new programming demonstrates our commitment to building upon those movies to create a dynamic television destination for movie lovers of all ages."

The new series pilot likely will be ready to air in time for the holidays. Other episodes will be shot and aired in early 2007.

Wilder's most recent work was shooting episodes of "Will & Grace" in 2003 with Baldwin playing a recurring character. Wilder is most famous for his 1971 role in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."
