I think a problem occurs when it snows on top of the grit. Ice can then form on the snow and it's back to square one. Short of continuous gritting there's no perfect solution. As for the paths, where I live I cleared the path and pavement and put salt down. Perhaps if the majority of people did their bit and showed some community spirit instead of expecting the council to do everything for them things wouldn't be so bad. When I was a kid our street at the time worked together to clear the snow from paths and did those of elderly neighbours too. − Bagsy, Bingley

This is some good news in the current financial climate. Morrisons is well known for its offers such as buy one get one free, and I personally think the main supermarkets will on average have the same kinds of prices, so I think it's down to the fact that Morrisons is well known for its good offers, there does seem to be more at Morrisons than other supermarkets. − daz, queensbury
