THEATRE A Moon for the Misbegotten This production of perhaps O’Neill’s most accessible play, with both Kevin Spacey and Eve Best on coruscating form, is a real moment of glory for the Old Vic. Colm Meaney is outstanding, too, adding some welcome humour. CH

ART Cézanne in Britain We weren’t always big on Cézanne, and when, in 1964, the National Gallery bought a Bathers canvas for £950,000, there were widespread protests. Things have improved and, as this exhibition to mark the centenary of Cézanne’s death shows, there were always collectors, such as Samuel Courtauld, ahead of the herd.
