Sean Avery, Elisha Cuthbert
Hockey star Sean Avery has been skating on thin ice, and he knows it. The Dallas Stars player apologized Wednesday for comments he made about ex-girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert (aka 24's Kim Bauer) that unleashed potential disciplinary action and a public reprimand.
"I should not have made those comments and I recognize that they were inappropriate," he said in a statement. "It was a bad attempt to build excitement for the game, but I am now acutely aware of how hurtful my actions were."
His apology came on the heels of criticism for an interview he gave Dec. 2. "I love Canada," he began. "I just wanted to comment on how..." More, after the jump.

Ugly Betty
Vanessa Williams' cut-throat, no nonsense attitude as Wilhelmina Slater put her at the top of Mode's food chain, but lately, the Ugly Betty star's fierceness is nowhere to be found now that she's in loooove. TVGuide.com caught up with Williams at an Allstate Parent-Teen Driving Contract event to get the scoop what she thinks about her character getting a bit soft now that the new CFO of Meade Publications, Connor Owens (Grant Bowler), has caught her fancy.

Elisha Dushku with Bryan Greenberg, Nobel Son
The bad news: Tru Calling is still cancelled. The good news: Fans of Eliza Dushku have two big reasons to be excited. Not only has the Buffy alum reteamed with Joss Whedon to create Dollhouse for Fox (premiering Feb. 13), but she also rocks a rather wild role in a twisty indie hitting theaters on Friday.
Nobel Son stars October Road's Bryan Greenberg as Barkley, the son of a newly christened Nobel Prize winner (Alan Rickman) and a police psychologist (Mary Steenburgen). On the eve of jetting to Sweden for dad's big night, Barkley has an electric and amorous liaison with Dushku's character, named City Hall. That marks just the beginning of the film's very wild ride.
Dushku spoke with TVGuide.com about her Nobel endeavor, as well as shared an update on Dollhouse, which she touts as being "cool and hot and different." See what she had to reveal, after the jump.
