Camp Lapu-Lapu, Cebu's Saint Jude Thaddeus Chapel was bathed in
immaculate white the night Bais blue bloods were joined in the Hoy
Sacrament of Matrimony. Young haciendero Tirso Teves, only son of
Maricar Ayesa de Teves and the late Ramon L. Teves, married heiress
Ana Maria Yoldi, youngest and only daughter of Marissa V. and Jaime
Yoldi, in glittering rites that was the culmination of a long courtship
and the beginning of a long, loving life together. Pedestals adorned
with white roses, daisies, bougainvillea, lilies and dendobriums,
crowned with three "I love you" candles, and draped in white satin
lined the aisle.
The altar was a majestic sight! White silk curtains so artistically
swathed were accented by dozens and dozens of white blooms with
a tinge of green ferns. Again, a hundred or so white candles flickered
to give the beautiful ceremony, officiated by popular Father Enrique
Balongag, a warm glow.
The bridal entourage was led by best man Juancho Teves followed
by the groom Tirso in the arms of elder sister, Iloilo's dynamic
Marichel Magalona. Principal Sponsors were composed of close relations
of both: Antonio Yoldi with Merche Berricano, Marcelo Ayesa Jr.
with Chiqui Yoldi, Jaime Domingo with Ma. Luisa Yoldi de Domingo,
Emilio Xavier Yoldi and Heidi Garcia, Don Manuel Teves, Jr. and
Remedios Teves, Eduardo Bonnin and Ma. Pilar Yoldi de Bonnin, Jose
Ma. Cacho and Lourdes Marquez, and Bais Vice-Mayor Francisco Villanueva
with Ma. Lourdes Fleischer. Secondary Sponsors were her brothers
with his sisters: Paolo Yoldi with Carmeli Teves - Varela, Jaimito
Yoldi with Machalen Teves - Camahort, and Santichu Yoldi and Maite
Teves.
Lovely bridal first degree cousin Vanessa Leslie Villanueva was
maid of honor with "pretty as dolls' flower girls Sabina Margarita,
Nuria Alina, Ainara and Mariana Luisa Yoldi, Beatriz and Sofia Magalona
and Andrea Varela. ring bearer Paolo Eduardo Yoldi, coin bearer
Juan Jose Ma. Unchuan and Bible bearer Lorenzo Iņigo Cacho were
princely sights in knickers. Statuesque Ana Maria was radiant in
an utterly beautiful gown of yards and yards of hand embroidered
piņa, exquisitely done by Philip Rodriguez. Papa Jaime was just
as dapper escorting her to meet her groom. The readings were done
by Pauline Villanueva, Emilio Stephano Yoldi, Ma. Regina Ayesa,
Raphael Teves and Carissa Garcia. The Offertory Procession was made
up of Patricia Bonnin, Iņaki Yoldi, Malca Villanueva, Simon Diago,
Jed and Dolores Unchuan, Geraldine Camahort, Jed Goņi, Carmen Antunez
and Marcelo Ayesa III.
Guests from far off Spain, London and the U.S.A., and neighboring
luminaries from Dumaguete and Bais (who came in full force!), Iloilo,
Manila and of course Cebu's "alta sociedad" , dressed to the nines,
filled the chapel and applauded the newlyweds.
